West Potomac Park Seawall Project Featured
Schnabel is excited and proud to serve as the geotechnical engineer of record for the first phase of the repair of the historic West Potomac Park seawall. The West Potomac Park seawall spans 4,600 linear feet, from the Arlington Memorial Bridge to the Inlet Bridge on Ohio Drive. Due to rising sea levels and shallow foundations supported on soft alluvial soils, the walls are deteriorating and settling, the adjacent landscape is subjected to regular flooding, and the shoreline is eroding.
Schnabel is working with an all-star team led by HDR and Moffatt & Nichol on this critical National Park Service project to protect and preserve our well-loved DC memorials and landscapes! Read more about this vital project: https://bit.ly/3SCrF9U.
