Schnabel Engineering Welcomes Thomas Evans

Welcome to Schnabel Engineering, Thomas Evans, PE!

Tommy joins Schnabel as a Geotechnical Engineer with more than 16 years of design and field engineering experience across the Southeast. His background includes geotechnical consultation, design, construction oversight, instrumentation, and field inspections, as well as ground improvement evaluations and dam and bridge inspections.

Throughout his career, Tommy has contributed to feasibility studies, geotechnical testing reports, and led bridge and roadway design projects in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and beyond. He brings extensive knowledge of DOT standards and procedures in those states and has provided consulting services for the South Carolina dam safety regulator, SC Department of Environmental Services, supporting the South Carolina dam safety program from 2016 through 2025. Tommy has also led and been a part of training under FEMA task orders and implementing risk-informed decision-making processes in South Carolina.

Known for his strong communication skills and collaborative approach, Tommy excels in multidisciplinary project environments.
At Schnabel, Tommy has hit the ground running with dam inspections and various design reporting for state and local clients from our office in Columbia, SC.
