Earning LEED Gold certification, the new Judicial Center Annex is located to the south of the existing Montgomery County Judicial Center in Rockville, Maryland. The building, with six stories above-grade and one level below-grade, matches the G-1 level of the existing buildings on site. The annex connects to the existing Judicial Center, and to the east of the terrace is a 16-story government office building.

Schnabel’s services in connection to this project included soil test borings, soil laboratory testing, engineering analysis, foundation requirements for support of the annex, and recommendations regarding load bearing fills, lateral earth pressure, groundwater, seismic site calls, and excavation support. We also provided consultation during construction.
