Powdermill Dam Update
Powdermill Dam, located in Westfield, Massachusetts, was constructed in 1965 with the purpose of providing flood control, wildlife development, and sediment storage for Powdermill Brook. Schnabel is working as a sub consultant to Aterra Solutions to support the rehabilitation design of the dam for the City of Westfield. Recently captured on a foggy morning during the site investigation, this shot highlights the testing and sampling of soils in the embankment and auxiliary spillway—key steps in gathering data to support the rehabilitation design.
