New I-95 Rappahannock River Crossing Opens
Today, both northbound and southbound lanes of the new I-95 Rappahannock River crossing in Fredericksburg, VA are now open to traffic—just in time for holiday travel and six months ahead of schedule. Schnabel began work on the project in 2017 and construction started in August 2018, and we’re proud to have contributed to its success on a strong team including Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Wagman, and the Virginia Department of Transportation. The new lanes double the capacity to six lanes in each direction, resulting in less congestion, increased safety, and better accessibility.
This project wrapped up 6 months ahead of schedule!
