Nathan Phelps Named Longmont Branch Leader

Nathan Phelps, PE, has been named the new branch leader of Schnabel’s Longmont, CO, office.

With 16 years of experience in civil engineering, Nathan is an expert in water rights, consumptive use modeling, hydrology, water supply analysis and planning, water resources systems analysis, and water resource operations modeling – serving as project engineer and project manager on numerous water resources projects for both private and government entities.

Nathan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Colorado State University and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Association of State Dam Safety Officials.

Nathan is an alumnus of Schnabel’s Leadership Development Group, a recent graduate of Water Education Colorado’s Water Leaders Program, and has served as the Water Rights Practice Lead for the Longmont office since 2022. Nathan will leverage the skills he has learned and his leadership experience to lead the Longmont office as the new Branch Leader.

Recognized for delivering clear, defensible solutions for complex water-resources challenges, Nathan will continue to provide his technical expertise on water projects across Colorado and the nation while applying the same clear-headed management to his new role.

Nathan takes over leadership from Morley Beckman, who has transitioned to the newly created Mining Market Pursuit Director role.
