Main Street Station Train Shed Wins APWA’s National Public Works Project of the Year
The Main Street Station Train Shed Rehabilitation has been selected as the APWA’s National Public Works Project of the Year (Restoration/Preservation, $25-75 million). Schnabel is honored to be part of the team for this 40-year phased development project developing the former train station and surrounding land into a multimodal transportation center serving downtown Richmond and central Virginia.
As the geotechnical engineer of record, Schnabel performed multiple studies to support the planning and design phases. During construction, we provided a full range of special inspections as well as a variety of construction materials testing services, including a comprehensive survey of the condition of the original steel frame. We also fulfilled the role of special inspector for the city. https://lnkd.in/gctaQJcr
