Jacob Sheehan Elected President of EEGS

We’re happy to announce that Jacob Sheehan, Senior Scientist based out of our Chadds Ford, PA, office, has been elected president of Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS) – an applied scientific organization that hosts an annual meeting (SAGEEP), and develops and distributes a peer-reviewed scientific journal, newsletters, and other materials on the application and use of geophysical technologies.

In this role, Jacob aims to support the continued expansion of EEGS’s educational activities to ultimately help the organization grow among students and the geoscience community.

“The society has held dozens of successful SAGEEP meetings, published countless issues of JEEG and Fasttimes, and helped many students and young professional geoscientists make connections that jumpstarted their careers,” Jacob says. “Now, we are further expanding the reach of EEGS through innovative programs such as the GAINS (Geophysical Applications in Near Surface) courses, which provide invaluable real-word education and advice for both new professionals and veterans alike.”

An EEGS member for 24 years, Jacob served two previous terms on the EEGS board of directors and is now serving a three-year term as President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President.

“EEGS has been an ever-present part of my career that has helped me gain a much broader understanding of the geophysical industry than I could have hoped to gain otherwise,” Jacob says.
