
Schnabel Engineering Wins Grand Award at ACEC Virginia’s 2021 Engineering Excellence Awards
On Thursday, February 4 ACEC Virginia presented the winners of the 2021 Engineering Excellence Awards. The virtual ceremony recognized engineering firms for projects that demonstrate an exceptional degree of innovation, complexity, achievement, and value.
This year Schnabel Engineering’s Yeager Airport Runway 5 Safety Area took home a Grand Award. The Grand Award showcases engineering excellence through innovation, creativity and exceptional social, economic and environmental benefits. Project Manager, Allen Cadden accepted the award thanking Airport Director of Yeager Airport, Nick Keller, former Director Terry Sayer, and the rest of the Yeager Airport staff.
The design team for the project consisted of ADCI, S&S Engineering, Burns Engineering, and the contractor was Orders Construction.
Other winners of the night that Schnabel had the opportunity to provide geotechnical services to included: AMT for Huntington Avenue Bridge project, Draper Aden/CHA for Henrico County High Schools Athletic Improvements, Dewberry for Elmont Water Storage Tank and Booster Station project and JMT for Thomasson Barn Road project.
