Felix Weidinger Travels to Rwanda with EWB
Felix Weidinger, senior staff engineer at Schnabel, recently had the opportunity to travel to Rwanda with Engineers Without Borders New York, to implement the first stage of the Kibingo Water Project.
Safe drinking water was previously scarce in the Kibingo community. They mainly relied on rainwater catchment systems prone to contamination, posing a risk of serious water borne illnesses.
The scope of this project included the re-development of an existing spring and the installation of a gravity-fed storage tank. Felix and his fellow EWB-NY volunteers worked alongside a local construction team to provide the Kibingo community with a much-improved water supply system.
