Del Shannon Presents at the AEG Mile High Chapter Meeting

On Tuesday, October 12, Del Shannon presented at the Association of Environmental Engineering Geologists (AEG) Mile High Chapter Meeting at the Trailhead Taphouse & Kitchen in Golden, Colorado.

The presentation, “Beer is for Drinking…Water is for Fighting! An Overview of Front Range Water”, was perfectly titled for the setting as Del engaged the audience to describe some of the elaborate and complex systems that provide water to Colorado’s Front Range. He also discussed some of the future projects that are being undertaken to continue to deliver water to the Colorado area.

“Providing water for Coloradans has always been a challenge, and this challenge is further complicated by the fact that 85% of its citizens live along the Front Range, which is one of its driest regions.”, said Del, “The systems of dams, reservoirs, tunnels, pipelines and treatment plants that we have to move water hundreds of miles is fascinating and a testament to the professionals who planned, designed, built, maintained these systems. It’s also a testament to those who continue to expand and improve these systems to the meet the future water needs of our state.”
