Construction Completed: Ashburn Recreation Center

Last week, the Schnabel Engineering team attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Ashburn Recreation Center in Loudoun County, Virginia, a transformative community space years in the making!

This 120,000-square-foot facility is designed to support the community by providing spaces for a wide range of activities and programs. It will include a gymnasium, fitness center, and aquatics area featuring a competition pool with spectator seating. Additional amenities include offices, classrooms, flexible meeting spaces, and a teaching kitchen. Outdoors, the facility will offer a playground, splash pad, outdoor fitness zone, landscaped courtyard, and a paved walking path.

Schnabel was honored to support this project by conducting subsurface exploration, performing soil laboratory testing, and preparing a comprehensive geotechnical engineering report with recommendations for earthwork, foundations, and pavement construction.

Congratulations to Page and Loudoun County on finishing the construction of this incredible community resource. We’re proud to have helped bring this vision to life!
