Schnabel Engineering expands its regional leadership by promoting Principal Engineer, Joe Monroe, PE to Southern Regional Manager for the Dams Business Unit. The role is Schnabel’s second Regional Manager role after promoting Tom Fitzgerald, PE to Western Regional Manager in 2020.
Joe Monroe has worked at Schnabel Engineering for 25 years and has been involved in the design and construction of new dams and the rehabilitation of existing dams throughout the United States and internationally. Throughout his career he has held a variety of roles within the firm previously serving as the Branch Leader of the Alpharetta, Georgia. As Southern Regional Manager, Monroe will be responsible for overseeing the Alpharetta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; and Greensboro, North Carolina offices. He will also explore opportunities to expand Schnabel’s dam and levee practice in other southern states.
“I look forward to working with all of our offices to continue our growth in southern region of the United States”, says Monroe. Schnabel Engineering continues to grow, completing a merger, recently opening an office in Austin, Texas and moving into new office space in Denver, Colorado. With Monroe’s new role the firm continues to focus on consistent and sustainable growth.
Monroe’s role was developed after the success of Western Regional Manager for the Dams Business Unit, Tom Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald has worked at Schnabel Engineering for 20 years and supports offices in Seattle, Washington; Boise, Idaho; and Denver and Longmont, Colorado.
Fitzgerald is excited for Monroe’s new position at Schnabel Engineering and is looking forward to increasing the firm’s presence in other regions. “As we continue to grow, Schnabel remains focused on finding new employees, partners and clients that share our core values so that we can continue to provide outstanding technical work and exceptional client service”, he stated.
Similar to Monroe’s role, Fitzgerald is responsible for managing business operations in the western region, creating strategies for continued growth, and coordinating with other business units and regions to facilitate the efficient use of the firm’s resources.
