The Rockville, Sterling and SEDC offices pulled together to support Henry and Tito Flores as they collected items and money to help family and friends in their hometown of Houston, stricken by the hurricane. Henry and Tito work for Schnabel through the TECs subcontractor construction phase services contract doing site foundation and concrete inspections in and around D.C., plus travel to Georgia and Alabama for dams jobs.
Employees Kristina Haggard, Angela Marchetti, Iridia Snowden, Joan Bentel, Gloria Munoz, Mary Anderson, Juan Uribe, and George Aristorenas all donated items, and Schnabel contributed gift cards for purchase of gas and water.
The Flores brothers and friends were able to raise support from a number of D.C. area food banks, grocery stores and resale shops to collect clothes, shoes, toiletries and food. They loaded up three Penske trucks and headed to Houston to coordinate with other ad hoc relief efforts and distribute items in communities that hadn’t yet received support.
