Schnabel is pleased to announce that Paul E. Diggs, PE, will serve as President for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Virginia for 2016-2017. Paul will succeed Benjamin A. Lilly, PE of Hankins & Anderson, who served for 2015-2016. The installation of the 2016-2017 ACEC/VA Board of Directors took place at the organization’s 2016 Annual Conference, held at the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, VA on June 23-25, 2016.
ACEC Virginia is the largest engineering firm association in the state, made up of more than 85 independent engineering firms representing more than 3,000 employees throughout Virginia.
Paul has been involved with ACEC VA for several years, including previous stints on the board as Secretary and Vice President at Large. Paul is honored and humbled to have been chosen to help lead the organization in the coming year. “ACEC is the only organization that advocates and educates for the business of engineering. Whether it is exposing middle school students to the real life possibilities of engineering or advocating at the General Assembly for QBS or teaching young engineers about the business and communications skills they need for a productive career, ACEC is where the engineering community turns. I am excited to work with our excellent staff and team of other volunteer engineering business leaders to maintain and improve upon the value proposition that ACEC/VA provides for our member firms.”
As the branch leader of Schnabel’s Richmond Metroplex offices, Paul manages the operations of office locations in Richmond, Charlottesville, and Newport News, VA. Paul is also an active member of Urban Land Institute (ULI), Associated General Contractors (AGC), Virginia Association of Counties (VACo), Virginia Municipal League (VML) and has served as the Chairman of the Planning Commission and on the School Board for the Town of West Point, VA.
Paul can be reached at email@example.com or at 804-649-7035. To learn more about ACEC VA and its activities, visit http://www.acecva.org
