Alexa Overeem Elected President, WTS Central Virginia

Alexa Overeem, Project Engineer in Schnabel’s Richmond branch, has been elected President of the Women’s Transportation Seminar, Central Virginia chapter for 2025!

Alexa has been involved in the WTS Central Virginia Chapter for the past three years, serving as Secretary and then Vice President of the Central Virginia Chapter. Alexa looks forward to bringing her unique perspective and creative flair to the role, with the goal of developing programming that not only educates but also inspires and engages the chapter members.

“My experience working with WTS has helped me to step out of my comfort zone and find amazing mentors,” says Alexa. “WTS’ mission to attract, sustain, connect, and advance women in the transportation industry deeply resonates with me. If I can inspire just one young woman to see herself in a career like mine, I have done my duty.”

As president, Alexa will champion the TransportationYOU committee and its initiatives to inspire grade school girls to explore engineering and transportation. Additionally, she is committed to giving back to the community through scholarships and various charitable programs.
