With this site knowledge, we then develop a pavement section, using AASHTO pavement design methods considering traffic loading, soil modulus of subgrade reaction (k), and reliability parameters.
Schnabel operates a state of the art SuperPave(R) laboratory in our Newport News, Virginia office. The laboratory provides QC and QA services during asphalt production and placement. Some of the testing services we provide include asphalt content by ignition, density of hot-mix asphalt (HMA) by Super Gyratory Compaction, Theoretical Maximum Specific Gravity of bituminous paving mixtures (RICE) testing, and mechanical analyses of extracted aggregate.
