Design for support of excavation typically is left to the contractor, who is responsible for design of the system.  Whereas most geotechnical engineering firms prepare these designs only at conceptual level, Schnabel prepares final support of excavation construction documents--plans and specifications--for contractors and owners. Our recommendations include excavation shoring, rock fall protection, tieback anchors, rock bolting, and soil nailing. Schnabel has developed complete excavation support design documents for projects ranging from 15-foot tall cantilevered sheet piles, to anchored and braced excavations over 60 feet deep.
