We can conduct evaluations and modeling, then plan for success.

Schnabel Engineering provides comprehensive groundwater services. As development moves into rural areas, groundwater increasingly becomes a source of industrial, commercial, and residential water supply. Along with this increasing dependence, growing concerns about groundwater quality and quantity has generated new regulations. Permitting under these regulations continues to increase in complexity and in the requirement for accurate data. Our services include hydrogeologic site evaluations using techniques such as pumping tests and geochemistry evaluations. Schnabel Engineering employs groundwater numerical modeling to simulate groundwater flow dynamics, to evaluate the effectiveness of “pump and treat” remediation systems, to predict drawdown for well interference issues, to simulate groundwater mounding from stormwater retention systems, and to evaluate well head capture zones for well head protection studies, and to design construction dewatering systems.  Using data from these studies, we can develop plans for well design and well field development.

Schnabel provides these Groundwater services:

  • Well siting using lineament/fracture trace analysis and field mapping
  • Supervision of water well construction and borehole geophysical surveys
  • Evaluation and rehabilitation of wells to increase or restore yields
  • Isolation zone hydrofracturing to develop and increase yield of water supply wells in low-yielding rock formations
  • Well testing including step-drawdown and constant rate pumping tests to evaluate well efficiency and aquifer characteristics
  • Well sampling for the presence of contaminants and natural groundwater characteristics for industrial/commercial and municipal potable water supplies
  • Groundwater flow mapping
  • Well head protection studies
