Project Overview
The new Graduate Engineering Research Building at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, includes approximately 100,000 square feet of research facility. Schnabel was the Special Inspector and provided construction observation and materials testing services for the three-story, cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and masonry building. As the Special Inspector agent for the project, Schnabel provided the full-range of special inspections testing required under the IBC Building Code.
Schnabel’s services during construction included performing observations of foundation construction and materials observation and testing services, including monitoring earthwork construction, fill subgrades, and concrete testing.
