Mark Dunscomb, P.E. promoted to Senior Associate of the Firm
July 9, 2007 | Schnabel Engineering, Inc., Glen Allen, Virginia, is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Mark Dunscomb, P.E. to Senior Associate of the Firm. Mr. Dunscomb has over 15 years experience in geological, geotechnical, and environmental applications within the Mid-Atlantic region. He is experienced in geophysical techniques and interpretation including one-dimensional and two-dimensional resistivity, terrain conductivity, ground penetrating radar, seismic refraction, induced polarization, spontaneous potential, electromagnetics, magnetics, and gravity. Additionally, his experience includes sinkhole potential evaluations; carbonate ordinance studies; foundation studies for residential, commercial/industrial, and educational projects in karst terrain; dye tracer studies; hydrogeologic studies for landfill expansions; rock slope hazard evaluation and mitigation design; fracture trace analyses; the prediction of groundwater flow and contaminant transport; the assessment and closure of underground storage tanks; the assessment and remediation of subsurface groundwater, soil, and vadose zone contamination: and planning, installation, and monitoring of recovery, and supply wells.
Mr. Dunscomb has assisted in teaching several geology, engineering geology, and geophysics undergraduate and graduate courses, and has authored or co-authored several papers on geophysical techniques and their application to different problems.
