Scott A. Raschke, Ph.D., P.E. joins the Firm as Associate
July 9, 2007 | Schnabel Engineering, Inc., Glen Allen, Virginia, is pleased to announce that Scott A. Raschke, Ph.D., P.E. has joined the Firm as Associate. Dr. Raschke has more than 18 years experience in civil engineering consulting and academics, with an emphasis on geotechnical and geo-material applications. Dr. Raschke has worked on commercial and residential site development projects for private developers, as well as a variety of infrastructure projects for private, city, county, and state governmental agencies throughout Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Dr. Raschke’s background includes laboratory evaluation of geo-materials and field investigation techniques, particularly non-destructive subsurface evaluation using geophysical methods.
Dr. Raschke has served as a consultant providing expertise on geotechnical site investigation and characterization and development of geosynthetic testing programs. He is the developer of the Vision Cone Penetrometer (Vis-CPT), a device which allows direct observation of subsurface soils in conjunction with a conventional electronic cone penetrometer. Dr. Raschke was on the faculty at Lehigh University for five years in the department of civil and environmental engineering, where he taught both geotechnical undergraduate and graduate engineering courses. Dr. Raschke has authored over 30 research publications.
