Kenneth Derrenbacher promoted to Principal

January 18, 2007 | Schnabel Engineering, Inc., Glen Allen, Virginia, is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Kenneth Derrenbacher to Principal of the Firm. Mr. Derrenbacher, Branch Leader for the Baltimore, Maryland office, has more than 24 years of experience in geotechnical engineering in the Baltimore area. His experience includes project management for more than 700 geotechnical engineering studies within the Maryland region. Mr. Derrenbacher has experience in a variety of geotechnical engineering applications relative to design of the following: retirement and residential communities, apartment buildings, hotels; parking garages; slopes, retaining walls, and excavation support; hospitals and universities; warehouse and industrial facilities; roadways, bridges and parking lots; and waterfront structures.

His specialized experience includes soil mechanics testing, shallow foundations, grouting, dam rehabilitation and design, slope stabilization, drilled shafts, geotechnical studies in karst terrain, and sinkhole investigation and remediation.

Schnabel is an ENR Top 10 geotechnical engineering firm that employs more than 360 in 21 offices. Schnabel specializes in geotechnical engineering, geostructural design, dam engineering, tunneling and underground engineering, environmental and applied geoscience services, construction monitoring, and resident engineering services for the government and commercial sectors.
