Bio

Mr. Conner has been principal investigator for a wide variety of projects, including buildings, landfills, highways, treatment plants, industrial facilities, earth dams, and slopes. He has over 25 years of experience related to geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and hydrogeologic studies. His experience includes deep and shallow foundation analysis; ground improvement using grouting and dynamic compaction; dam stability and rehabilitation evaluations; landfill site evaluations; QA/QC for landfill construction and closure; stability analysis of natural and embankment slopes; slurry wall design; and site characterizations for leaking underground storage tanks. He has extensive experience in site evaluation, foundation design, grouting, and sinkhole mitigation in karst geologic settings. He has evaluated and designed mitigation programs for arresting subsidence of abandoned underground coal mines. He is also experienced in evaluating mine spoil fill sites for building and road construction, including the design of ground improvement via deep dynamic compaction and surcharge preloading. As Branch Leader, Mr. Conner is responsible for the overall operation and direction of the Schnabel’s Blacksburg, Virginia, office.
