Description:

The Greensboro office of Schnabel Engineering is looking for a Geologist to join their team.

As a Geologist, you will be responsible for data collection in the field, evaluation and analysis of data, and report writing.

Project work will be dependent on the candidate’s strengths and may include site investigations for large facilities (dams, power plants, tunnels), evaluation of landfills, environmental sampling, hydrogeologic investigations, and/or geophysical investigations.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Geology or a closely related field and 2+ years of experience. Knowledge of engineering geology, environmental sciences, site investigations, and data analysis is required. Field experience with logging of soil and rock and well installation is necessary. Other experience with geophysics, aquifer testing, environmental sampling, or geologic mapping is a plus. Good verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment is a must for those applying. You must be willing and able to perform strenuous field activities. Overnight travel required, occasionally for extended periods of time.
